_____m² is an ongoing New Media installation series which repurposes commonplace objects in order to reclaim public space, (and time) repositioning it into an artistic/resistance-based context. Traffic cones, chains and construction signage are all inexpensive, commonly available items which have become firmly rooted in the language of authority and control; used by both state and corporate entities to freely restrict access and thereby redefine public spaces (and uses of public time) as they see fit. _____m² uses this same vocabulary of objects to reverse that relationship, hacking space and time from government and corporate interests for its own ends.
